Orientation Week at Academic City University College

Transitioning from High School to University can come with anxiety and uncertainty. To help students ease into their new academic journey, Academic City hosts its freshmen to an orientation program aimed at giving students a full view of what the university has to offer.

As a futuristic institution focused on developmental engineering, Academic City University College, Ghana became the first tertiary institution in Ghana to launch a duly accredited hands-on premium Bachelor of Science first degree program in Robotics Engineering at a press briefing on their campus on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. The event also marked the announcement of ACity’s top-end B.Sc. Biomedical Engineering program.

The 4-year extensively practical programs are designed to equip students with the requisite skills and new know-how to excel in the workspace of the future which will be driven by robotics, artificial intelligence, and biomedical.

Academic City College, a premium Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) tertiary institution has been granted a ‘University College’ status by the National Accreditation Board (NAB).

This new status reinforces Academic City’s position as a premium tertiary institution and its ambition to be a leading STEAM university in Africa. Academic City College, Ghana has presented a full scholarship to Mr Daniel Kekeli Gakpetor, a student of the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Legon and winner of the 2020 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).

The Academic City Presidential Scholarship, worth USD 40,000, is awarded to students for their distinctive academic excellence and devotion to affect society through creative innovations. The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, meals, a laptop, monthly allowance, and transportation to and from the student’s hometown (twice a year).
